The Design
A wide red stripe crosses the chest of a blue body, backed by three narrow white ones, with white contrast worked into the shoulders and sleeves. A white polo collar opens into a V, trimmed in red and blue, with an embroidered crest at the chest. Retro, and nicely put together.
A Piece of History
A reissue of a France shirt that people still remember. Shirts like this get bought for one of two reasons: either you watched the original season and want the shirt back, or you collect kits and this one belongs in the run. The cut follows the modern sizing rather than the original's, which is worth knowing if you are replacing a shirt you already own.
The Player
One of French football's towering figures and among the finest forwards of any era, an attacker who started wide, came inside at speed and finished without fuss; composure was his trademark.
